Giles Gardner is a filmmaker, editor, and script doctor. Giles edits award winning international documentaries for theatrical release, and broadcast television including the BBC, Arte and France Television. Recent editing credits include: "Farming the revolution" by Nishtha Jain - HOTDOCS - World documentary prize 2024 - "The Song of others" - Visions du Reel - Int. competition 2024 - "Winnie" by Pascale Lamche - SUNDANCE - world documentary prize 2017 - "A Thousand girl like me" by Sahra Mani - FIPADOC - winner 2018 - "Inna de Yard" by Peter Webber - TRIBECA Festival 2019. Recently script doctor and editor for the film directed by Harriet Marines Jones "King of Kings" which has just received more than 15 awards in 18 international festivals. The film was part of the first pre-selections (December 2024) for the Oscar 2025 for best documentary film.
In 2022 Giles GARDNER wrote, directed and edited A COOLER CLIMATE with JAMES IVORY that premiered at THE 60TH NEW YORK FESTIVAL and was distributed in France under the title UN ETE AFGHAN by Carlotta Films.
Gardner lives in Paris and has dual British & French nationality. Committed to nurturing new and emerging talents he regularly tutors at mentoring programs CloseUp and Dok Incubator.
